Introduction

"We score trophies, but every hunt is to some extent a way of measuring ourselves." Justin Spring

Hunting is a controversial issue because it is frequently regarded as a recreational activity, and most people are concerned about safety issues. Society's attitude and current paradigm about animals' rights have changed in history.

Like so many debatable issues, the answer to this question depends upon who you ask. For some people, nothing could be more natural than hunting as indeed just about every animal species—including humans—has been either a predator or a prey at some point in its evolution. On the other hand, for many environmental and animal protectors, hunting can be seen as barbaric and morally wrong. In this website people can find antagonistic perspectives in relation to the controversial topic of hunting.

The goal of this site is to show, compare and understand opposing views about this debatable subject and the possible global impact of this activity.

This site will also show how hunting developed through the years as well as try to understand current opinions and different standpoints on this topic.

Research shows that people can be quite emotional when refering to wild life. For many people, the thought of killing an animal can trigger intense reactions thus challenging our food and environmental preconceptions and habits. On the other hand, hunters express that they feel a strong engagement and connection to nature and to animals while hunting.
